WHY was Lighting-Forest born?
We live in a world where many things are mass produced, making our pace of life ever-accelerating. We want to allow people to slow down and appreciate the beauty of life through a certain aspect - lighting, which is something that every household can use. At lighting-forest, all products should be handmade, and it is.
Our History
Maxwell Ryan came to a place known as "the land of bamboo weaving" by chance, and he was attracted by the house in front of him (as picture). Everything in here is made by hand, and everyone in this village has their own skills and exchanges what they need with each other. There are no mass-produced tools, no heavily polluted air, no loud noises. There is only hand weaving, the sound of wind, and birdsong.
Zhang Yuwei, a guy from this village, brought Maxwell Ryan to his secret base: there are all kinds of rattan lightshades here. It is said that Zhang Yuwei likes rattan products very much. He went to ask an old man to study for 3 years, and finally learned something. According to his own inspiration, he weaves different patterns of lampshades every day, but he has no support from his family (so he has this secret base). Maxwell Ryan was very moved. Saw these handmade lampshades with character and decided to help him sell these products, and he did. The sales of these lampshades were well received by the Chinese market, and Zhang Yuwei also received the support of his family and taught the villagers to weave.
Maxwell Ryan felt that such good products should not only be sold in the Chinese market, but should be promoted to their own country - the United States. So in January 2022, we established our first multinational online store https://lighting-forest.com/.
